Double Ear Infection

It's been a really rough couple days for Addison. She started getting really grumpy after her nap yesterday afternoon, and it just escalated as the night wore on. She woke up about 5 times between when we put her to be and about 10:30 pm. The last time she woke up screaming bloody murder, threw up all over Zuke, and took 40 minutes of rocking to get her back to sleep. At that time, she had a temp of 101.2, so we gave her some Tylenol, hoping that would help.

Well, she slept until about 3:30, woke up and had a bottle. She drank it really quickly, but just kept crying and whimpering nonstop. I sat in bed, rocking her, for about 40 minutes until she calmed down enough to go back to sleep. She woke up this morning around 8, seemingly feeling a bit better. We took her temp again, and it was 101.5, so we called the doctor and got her in.

The diagnosis? Double ear infection. The doctor was a little concerned, because Addison seemed to be more miserable than a baby with ear infections, so we were warned to watch her closely the next day or so. We got home, and got her loaded up with more Tylenol, some antibiotics, and some ear drops for pain (oh, and teething tablets cuz she's teething again, too), and she finally took a nap.

We just got done giving her that whole round of medications again, which takes about ten minutes and two people, and she seems to be doing better. Her fever was 99.5 the last we checked, so we feel good about that. She's taken two naps today, and will hopefully get some decent sleep tonight. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we do, too!
