Midwest Trip Day 4 - Nauvoo

I think that Thursday was the day that Zuke discovered that we could actually get some cooler air in the van by turning the temp dial down, but just not turning on the actual a/c. That made the rest of the trip much more pleasant! Thursday started out with a big run to Walmart in Keokuk to buy food for the wedding dinner the next night. After a stop at Taco Bell for lunch, we ventured out into Nauvoo. We saw the printing shop, the gunsmith shop, the brickyard, the blacksmith, the Smith Family Cemetary, the bakery, and drove past many more places. We also stopped for a while at the Pioneer Activity center. They had a lot of pioneer games, pioneer dress-ups, a makeshift pioneer home and a makeshift school house for the kids to play with. We all had so much fun there, and got some adorable pictures. We then walked around a bunch of the stores and saw a lot of fun things before the town seemed to close down at 6:00. We headed back to the villas and made dinner, and then just hung out watching tv the rest of the night.

I adore this picture!!

our own Nauvoo brick.

Smith Family Cemetary. This is the tombstone for Joseph Smith, Jr., Emma Smith,
and Hyrum Smith. The cemetary had a very solemn and reverent spirit there.
