Our 4th of July weekend this year was really nice and relaxing. We spent some time wandering around the craft fair in Provo, which was fun. They always have such good food there! On Saturday the 3rd, we had the Schimdt's and Strub's over for a small barbecue and fireworks. It was amazingly hot, so we also got out the swimming pools. Cameron and Amanda came by to join us for fireworks after dinner. Let me tell ya.....watching fireworks is way more exciting when the people lighting them are pyros! I wasn't sure how Addison would do with the fireworks this year, since she hated them last year, but she found them totally fascinating!
On Sunday the 4th, we all got together at my parent's house for a barbecue. My dad had bought this little watermelon umbrella at Home Depot for only $2, and Addison wanted to do nothing else that night but sit underneath it in her chair. After dinner, we played a rousing game of "The Newlywed Game". Let's just say that playing that game with your ultra-conservative parents can lead to side-splitting laughter! Once it started getting dark, we lit off some more fireworks in the front yard.
Addison loved squirting everyone and everything with
the flower from her pool.
