Anyone who knows me well knows that Fiesta Days (the 24th of July) is one of my favorite times of year, and has been since I was a little girl. I've always made it a point to bring my kids to the activities, hoping to instill the same love of it in them. We started out the day with the parade. Addison was absolutely adorable. She kept walking around talking to all of the other kids sitting around us, and was so enthusiastic about waving at all of the "princesses and ponies" in the parade. After the parade, even though it was really hot, we decided to brave the carnival and the craft fair. Not sure that was the best idea, but the kids had a lot of fun. Addison wasn't interested at all in going on the rides, so I spent ten bucks at balloon darts and won her a stuffed bunny, so she was happy. After we were burnt out at the carnival, we went home to take naps before going to dinner at my parent's house. Dinner was the usual barbecue, and afterwards we all ventured out by the ballpark to see the fireworks after the rodeo. We had never done this before, and the traffic was a bit of a nightmare, but it was a blast and the kids really enjoyed it, so we'll probably add that onto our list of traditions in years to come.
