Pinewood Derby

Tyler got to participate in his first pinewood derby last night!  It was originally going to be a couple weeks ago, but we got to the church and learned that the couple who were supposed to bring the track had scheduled it for the wrong day!  Tyler had decided that he wanted a Lightning McQueen car, so he, Zuke, and my mom worked really hard for a few weeks to get it exactly like he wanted it.  The derby was a lot of fun!  They provided popcorn, licorice, and drinks for everyone there.  Each boy got to race a total of 4 times, each time in a different lane.  Everything was automated and hooked up to a computer, so they could accurately tell which place each car was in and how fast each one went.  In the end Tyler took 3rd place!  He was so excited!  It was a really fun night, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
