Tucson Trip - Part 1

Last weekend, we had the opportunity to fly down with Zuke's mom to Tucson and spend some time with some of Zuke's extended family. It was a rather short trip, but we fit a lot of stuff into just a few days. Here's the rundown.

THURSDAY

We flew out around 10 am Thursday morning. The weather was absolute
ly disgusting on our drive to the airport, but we got there right on time. We had decided not to purchase Addison her own ticket, and just have her ride on our laps. Admittedly, we were a little worried about how she'd do on the plane, but she did absolutely wonderfully! She loved looking out the window, making friends with the flight attendants, and making all the other passengers laugh. We had a brief layover in Phoenix, and can I just say that I hate that airport? I think we must have walked at least a mile between our connecting terminals. It totally sucked. Then, when we landed in Tucson, we walked at least another half mile to get to the rental car counter. Ugh. I was ready for bed already. When we got to the rental car counter, we decided that we should upgrade to....a Saturn Vue! That car totally rocked!!!

We got all loaded into the car, and headed out to Zuke's Aunt & Uncle
's place to drop his mom's stuff off and lounge for a bit. We got to introduce Addison to their two pitbulls....she wasn't too sure of them at first. Dick and Diana had gotten us a room at a really nice resort, with a jetted tub! Oh happy day! We got all settled in, and headed over to visit Zuke's grandma. We haven't seen her at all since our wedding, and she had never met Addison, so we were really excited to go. She absolutely ADORED Addison! And Addison warmed up to her really quickly, so it was a fun visit. We made a quick stop at IHOP on the way back to the hotel for a late dinner. We had borrowed a playpen for Addison to sleep in, and were a bit nervous, considering she's never spent a night not in her own crib. She was so exhausted after not having a nap all day, that she was out within 10 seconds. Which allowed me to take a nice, long bath in the jetted tub. :)
