Pleasant Valley Days

This year, we were FINALLY able to head up to Scofield for Pleasant Valley Days!  We had planned on it last year, but the entire town had been evacuated due to all the wildfires in the area, so we were really happy that we got to head up this year!  We left home early Saturday morning so that we'd get there before the parade started.  We got all set up with our chairs in Uncle Jim & Aunt Carol's driveway, and waited for the parade to start.  Even though it was very much a small town parade, the kids loved it!  We ended up with SO much candy!!

After the parade and a yummy lunch at Grandma Debra's house, Zuke and I took the kids down to the fair.  There wasn't much there, honestly, but the 3 older kids spent a good hour playing in the bouncy houses while the other 3 of us snacked on mini donuts and listened to the live music.  When the kids had had their fill, we bought some raffle tickets and headed back to the house.

After some afternoon naps and a delicious dinner, we headed up to the ridge by the cemetery to wait for the fireworks over the lake.  It was getting rather chilly, so we were happy that we had brought our jackets!  The fireworks were really cool, and the kids really enjoyed themselves.  The next morning, none of us were ready to head back down the canyon.  Hopefully we'll get to head back up again next summer!
