Our Christmas Eve this year was actually quite busy, but not overly so. We ventured out that morning to run a few errands, and funny enough, none of them were Christmas related. We grabbed some lunch, put the kids down for naps, and I ran to the grocery store to pick up some last minute groceries and treats. While the kids slept, Zuke and I finished wrapping a couple things, and then we were all ready to go!
The whole family went down to my parents' house for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. We had a huge ham dinner, and it was so yummy! After dinner got cleaned up, we headed down to the family room for our annual telling of the nativity story. Whitney and Addison put the flannel board pieces up while I read the story. This is a tradition that we've had since I was little, and I'm so happy that it's one that we still do every year. After the story, we convinced my mom that she needed to open one of her presents from Whitney, Kelly & my dad. They got her the "starter set" for the Willow Tree nativity that she's wanted for years! It's so pretty!
We headed home around 8:30 and put some cookies in the oven to bake for Santa. Grandma Debra and Ryo got here around 9:30, and we all got to open our Christmas pajamas. We got the kids all changed into their pajamas and sent them off to bed with reminders that Santa couldn't come unless they were sleeping. We didn't hear a peep from them all night!
Alexis is fascinated by hair these days.
