When I took Addison in for her 5-year check-up last month with the pediatrician, she didn't do very well on her eye exam. We weren't really sure if it was because she couldn't see the images, or if she was just simply distracted by the movie in the room, so we decided it would be best to get it checked out.
Zuke had a day off last week, so I finally took her into the eye doctor. The doctor ended up having to dilate her eyes, which she didn't like one little bit. We then had to go walking around Wal-Mart for about 45 minutes, during which Addison coerced me into buying her a stuffed animal. Sigh. Anyway, once the doctor looked at her eyes again, he confirmed that she would definitely need glasses. Her vision isn't horrible by any means, but it would make looking at a chalkboard without glasses fairly difficult.
So, we spent the next 45 minutes trying on pair after pair of glasses, and finally narrowed it down to 2 pairs, which we picked up two days ago. Addison looks absolutely adorable in both pairs, and seems to be acting a bit more sophisticated, if that's possible. She's gotten a ton of compliments on her glasses, so let's just hope that she can keep them in one piece!
