Our 4th of July this year was filled with family, friends, food, and relaxation.....the recipe for a perfect day! To start off, our kids were amazing enough to let Zuke and I sleep in until almost 10:30. That can make even the worst day seem a little better! We got up and got ready, and then met our friends, Tom and Lynnae, at Red Lobster for a yummy lunch.
After lunch, we headed back home to get things set up for the barbecue we were hosting for my family that evening. Amanda, Cameron and Lila came over a bit early for some swimming, but that unfortunately didn't last long. Everyone else showed up, and we got to work grilling marinated steak and chicken. We also had deviled eggs, salad, chips, and veggies. It was all so yummy! We all just hung out for a while, and then started lighting off some fireworks. Due to all the wildfires this year, we kept our fireworks pretty tame. That didn't keep Cameron from getting a bit experimental, and at one point a spark landed in his hair and Zuke had to hurry and put it out! It was a great 4th of July!
