I have the best husband in the world! Seriously! So, a few months ago, I found out that Lady Antebellum would be coming in concert, and I really wanted to go. Unfortunately, by the time we got around to looking for tickets, they were insanely expensive, so I had just given up on planning to see them. So, a few days before Valentine's Day, Zuke told me that he wanted to give me my Valentine's present early. I thought it was a bit strange, but agreed. He handed me an envelope with a Valentine card in it.....and 2 awesome tickets to see Lady Antebellum!!! EEEEEEKKKKK!!! I was so excited!
The concert happened to be on Valentine's Day, which made it all the more perfect. I picked Zuke up from work, and we raced up to Sandy to catch Trax to downtown. We met our friends, Roy & Andrea, at Z'Tejas for dinner. I'd been wanting to go eat there for a long time, and it didn't disappoint! We had a really good time at dinner, and then headed over to the concert. Zuke had some other friends that were at the concert, as well as my cousin and her husband. It was the popular place to be!
The first opening act was Thompson Square. They performed for about half an hour, and were really good! Once they were done, Darius Rucker took the stage. Zuke honestly seemed to be in heaven! Darius did some of his old Hootie & The Blowfish stuff, and also sang an amazing rendition of "Purple Rain"! It was obvious that he has been performing for years, and was amazingly comfortable on stage. He performed for about 45 minutes before Lady Antebellum took the stage. They were AMAZING! Their energy and sound made for the perfect concert! It was the perfect concert, the perfect Valentine's Day, with the perfect date!
