Major Update

Well folks, it's been a while. A long while. And I sincerely apologize for that. The past few months have had some major ups and downs, and while our blog was still public, there were things we really didn't feel like broadcasting to the entire world. But now that we're all private, we can spill our guts! Although we have a lot of catching up to do, and I promise I will do it, I'd rather give everyone an update on what's going on in our lives now.

As some of you know, we've been working toward getting sealed in the temple for about 6 months now. We finally got the required (and pretty nasty) letters from our ex-spouses the end of December, and set to work on writing our own letters. Let me tell you....it is hard to write a letter that explains the situation with your ex-spouse without sounding bitter or placing blame. Urgh. Anyway, we got our letters done, then met with our bishop last week and our stake president a couple days ago. They are both recommending in their letters that our sealing clearance be granted! Yay!!! The paperwork is being sent in this week, and then we have about a month's wait before we hear word back. We're shooting for either the end of March, or the middle of April, due to our weekend schedules with the boys. It's hard waiting, knowing that we've done all we can do and that it's out of our hands right now. We have faith and truly believe that it will happen, and we can't wait to be sealed to each other and to Addison!

In not such happy news...we found out a few weeks ago that Kaiden's mom is moving to Canada with her new husband in April. While we understand the reasoning behind her decision to move, we can't in good conscience just let Kaiden go. It's no secret that we have constant struggle with Kaiden's mom in getting her to simply abide by what she signed in the divorce papers. We have been working with a lawyer for a few months, even before the news of her move, to take her to court and enforce what is in the divorce papers. Since we already had things against her, it makes our push for full custody stronger. Unfortunately, fighting for full custody is a long, hard, and expensive process. We are trying to mentally, emotionally, and physically prepare for the court evaluation, which is stressful in itself. We have racked our brains, trying to figure out how to come up with the six thousand dollars we need, and have currently set up an online auction site at keepingkaiden.blogspot.com. We're hoping that everyone will check out the site and consider bidding on the awesome items that have been donated. And if you are unable to bid on anything, prayers are always appreciated. :)

Back to another happy note....we just made the decision today that Tyler will be coming to live with us primarily. Yay!!!! Apparently, he's been having a hard time at his dad's house, and things have just become increasingly difficult. So after a lot of thought and lots of prayers, the mutual decision was made to change custody around. This is a HUGE sigh of relief for me, as it was a hard decision I made to have Tyler be at his dad's most of the time. It feels like this is the way it was supposed to work out, and I feel an amazing peace about the whole thing. There is also some stress that comes with it....Tyler takes a while to adjust to big changes like this, and I'm concerned about putting him into a new school, but I have faith that we can make it work. He will be starting at his new school on Tuesday if all goes as planned. We are very excited to have him here with us every day!

In other news, Addison has hit her "terrible two's" full force. She is into absolutely everything, and squeals like a banshee all the time. She is learning a lot, and her vocabulary astounds me! She is such a little parrot. Zuke was recently called as the Elder's Quorum secretary, and is really excited about it. Work is going really well for him. A few weeks ago, he acquired an intern, and is really enjoying teaching him about computers and having a gopher to do all of his menial tasks for him. I just finished another bridal fair with Annalee, and I was so proud of the work we did! You can check out our new business venture at www.designdivasutah.com. I am definitely happy to have it over with, though, and am excited to start getting into wedding season. Life is extremely busy and stressful right now, but we recognize all of the good things and blessings in our lives!
