Zuke and Melissa: Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! For once, I was actually really prepared, so I was able to relax and enjoy things a bit more than usual. Tyler spent Christmas Eve and morning with his dad, and Kaiden was with his mom, so it was just us and the girls. We went down to my parents' house on Christmas Eve, and had yummy soup with bread bowls for dinner. Then we did our annual telling of the nativity, complete with flannel board figures! Afterwards, we came home and the girls got to open their Christmas pajamas. We put some cookies out for Santa, and of course ate some ourselves

*Santa side note: After the girls were in bed, Zuke and I headed down to Whitney & Kelly's house to retrieve all our hidden Christmas presents. When we got there, their driveway was a sheet of pure ice! They had left their keypad to the garage door open, and it was all covered in ice and frozen! Made for quite the difficult time getting into the house.

It was hard to get a good smile out of Lila all night.

Christmas morning actually didn't come as early as we thought it would....the girls slept in until after 8:00! Addison and Alexis were so excited to open their presents! My parents came to watch them open presents, and Zuke's mom had spent the night and was there, as well. It was nice to just take our time and not have to rush off anywhere, and so fun to get to see the girls' excitement over each present. Addison was so happy that Santa remembered her My Little Pony Castle, and Alexis was in love with her new baby and stroller! I went and picked Tyler up from his dad right after lunch, and brought him back home to open his presents. He loved everything, but was especially excited for his new phone. We had reprogrammed an old phone for him to use to play games and take pictures with. He couldn't believe we'd actually given him one!

Once we were done with Tyler's presents, we went back down to my parents' house to open presents with my family. We all got totally spoiled by my family, especially the kids! We then all just got to hang out together, munch on Christmas treats, and then had more soup for dinner. By the time we came home that night, we were all exhausted, but in a good way. It was a wonderful Christmas!
